Bob Egerton is a member of the Regional Agribusiness Banking Group leadership team and is currently developing the Co-op Start financing program for early stage farmer cooperatives as part of CoBank’s Growing Rural America Initiative. Mr. Egerton is based in Enfield, Connecticut.
The Regional Agribusiness Banking Group specializes in serving agricultural cooperatives that process, market, transport and export agricultural commodities. The majority of customers are involved in the grain, farm supply, dairy, timber and sweetener industries. The Eastern Region also serves the fruit and vegetable, livestock and cotton industries, as well as the Farm Credit Associations which serve New England, New York and New Jersey. Mr. Egerton is a member of CoBank’s Senior Leadership Team.
Before joining CoBank in 1996, Mr. Egerton served for 10 years as president and CEO of Empire Farm Credit, ACA, in New York. He has more than 38 years of lending experience serving agricultural producers and cooperatives. He began his career as a loan officer in Middletown, New York. From there, he spent five years with the Farm Credit Bank of Springfield in loan approval and credit training. From 1984 through 1986, Mr. Egerton served as vice president for the Springfield Bank for Cooperatives.
A native of Rhode Island, Mr. Egerton earned a bachelor’s degree in animal science from the University of Maine and a master’s degree in business administration and corporate finance from the University of Hartford. He has also completed the Graduate School of Management, Executive Development program at Cornell University.
