Financial Instrument Accounting
Position Summary:
Researches technical accounting
issues and implements accounting procedures and policy
related to financial instruments. Investigates and
creates accounting valuation methodologies for financial
instruments, including derivatives, investments and
debt. Manages back-office treasury support functions,
including training and supervision of staff, and
management of relevant software systems and tools.
Knowledge and
Skills
Bachelor’s degree in relevant
discipline and 5-8 years total experience, preferably
with Big Four accounting firm or large financial
services company; or appropriate combination of
education and experience. Master’s Degree and/or CPA
preferred. Basic understanding of FAS 115, FAS 91, FAS
133 and FAS 157, is preferred. Advanced spreadsheet
skills, including use of macros, preferred.
Other Requirements
Ability to manage workload
effectively and perform in a deadline oriented and
rapidly paced environment. Advanced evaluation,
analysis, organizational and communication skills
required. Project management skills preferred.
Capability to understand, operate, and maintain
financial accounting, operations and valuations
systems. Performance of assigned duties may require
working after normal bank hours. Occasional travel
