Commitment to Diversity
“CoBank’s board and management recognize that a
diverse work force provides a competitive advantage as we draw on the
largest possible pool of talent. A broad range of experience and
perspectives brought to us by a diverse group of associates is critical to our future
success.
CoBank respects differences and values diversity as a strength.”
Robert B. Engel, President and Chief Executive Officer
CoBank sincerely strives to cultivate a distinct work environment. As we grow, evolve, and succeed as an organization, we firmly believe our progress is due to the diversity of our workforce. Our ability to innovate and exceed our customers’ expectations is derived from sustaining an environment that celebrates and leverages the talent, insight, experience, and intuition that each individual dedicates to the bank.
CoBank Outreach Efforts
CoBank has taken proactive steps to recruit a diverse group of associates with the talents and skills to contribute to the success of our organization. CoBank and our customers benefit from associates who offer a broad variety of skills and perspectives while at the same time our associates are provided opportunities to realize their personal and professional goals. Our outreach efforts include the following.
INROADS
Each year CoBank employs college interns who participate in INROADS. The mission of INROADS is to develop and place talented minority youth in business and industry and to prepare them for corporate and community leadership. Selection, Education & Training, and Performance are the key factors to success. For over three decades, INROADS has helped businesses gain greater access to diverse talent through continuous leadership development of outstanding ethnically diverse students and placement of those students in internships at many of North America's top corporations, firms and organizations.
Support for the Disadvantaged in Agriculture
CoBank is a strong supporter of the Farm Credit System Foundation. The Foundation was formed in 1991 through initial contributions by the banks in the Farm Credit System. The Foundation serves the needs of young, beginning, and small farmers and ranchers. The Foundation's role is to serve the needs of this group of producers on a national basis.
Diversity Career Fairs
CoBank annually participates in diversity career fairs. These career fairs enhance CoBank's ability to recruit diverse candidates for the locations where we operate.
