PAC Drive and Auction
PAC Drive
The District Farm Credit Council will host PAC fundraising activities at the 2012 Association Forum. We encourage meeting participants to stop by the PAC Booth, inquire about giving to the PAC, and make a contribution or pledge.
The PAC Booth will be open beginning with meeting registration on Tuesday, March 20, at 10:00 am, and will close at the conclusion of the afternoon Director Training and CEO Tracks on Wednesday, March 21, at approximately 5:00 pm. PAC contributions/pledges will be accepted anytime during the above schedule.
Anyone making a pledge or contribution will receive a small “thank you” gift, Farm Credit PAC pin, and ribbon.
Contributors are encouraged to utilize a personal check to make their contributions (corporate checks are not allowed by Federal Election regulations governing PACs).
Auction
All meeting attendees are invited to join in the fun of a Silent and Live Auction. Silent and Live Auction items will be on display during meeting registration through Wednesday at approximately 5:00 pm. Bids for the Silent Auction will close following the reception at approximately 6:30 pm. The Live Auction will take place immediately following the Wednesday Evening Dinner.
All proceeds from the auction will go to the Farm Credit PAC, and no minimum contribution to the PAC is required to participate. If you make a contribution or pledge at the Association Forum and are the successful bidder for an auction item, your contribution or pledge will count toward the total amount of the item. We hope this makes it more convenient for those wishing to make their contributions/pledges at anytime throughout the Association Forum.
Spouse Program
On Wednesday, March 21, spouses/guests are invited to attend one of two tour options. There is no charge to participate in the Spouse Program.
If your spouse/guest would like to participate in one of the tours, please be sure to select the appropriate "Spouse Program" agenda item when registering for the meeting.
Option 1: Mission San Juan Capistrano and Laguna Beach Tour
Learn about the beginning of California through its Mission system as well as enjoy the beautiful artists’ colony of Laguna Beach.
Once arriving at Mission San Juan Capistrano, docents will lead guests on a tour of a portion of the 10 ½ acre facility. Beautiful landscaped courtyards, old adobe buildings and a chapel adorned with an ornate gilded alter are just a few of the sights you will see and enjoy. The Mission San Juan Capistrano is known around the world for the mysterious “Return of the Swallows” in March of every year. This Mission is considered the “jewel in the crown” of all the California Missions – it is not to be missed!
Next, the coach will take guests to the picturesque Dana Point Harbor before heading a short distance to Laguna Beach. Laguna has always been known for its beautiful beach, unique shops, art galleries and boutique style restaurants. There will be free time to explore the area at your leisure.
Following free time in Laguna, guests will enjoy lunch at Las Brisas. A cliff-side restaurant with a fantastic view of the main beach at Laguna, Las Brisas features a famous rose garden and a busy patio-dining scene.
The tour will depart from Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach at 9:00 a.m. and return at approximately 2:15 p.m. Please dress comfortably.
Option 2: “Do as the Locals Do” Tour of Newport Harbor and Balboa Island
The tour begins with a narrated tour down Pacific Coast Highway to the Newport Harbor. Guests will then board electric boats for a tour of the harbor. These small electric boats are seen all throughout Newport Harbor. On weekends, many locals own or rent these easy to drive boats … a local tradition of sorts!
Tour staff will serve as personal navigators and tour guides on each vessel. However, the boats are as easy to drive as a golf cart and only a driver’s license is required to ‘take the helm’! A ride through the many "Islands" lined with pricey, beautiful homes and yachts will be a lasting memory.
Following the tour, the boats will dock at Balboa Island. The island features a 1½ mile boardwalk all the way around the entire island! Guests will spend some free time enjoying the picturesque boardwalk, specialty shops, and beautiful homes. Then, enjoy lunch at The Cannery. This restaurant was once an actual fish canning company and later turned into a restaurant. A visual and culinary treat!
Following lunch, guests will take a short ride over to Crystal Cove. For many locals, a weekend in Orange County is not complete unless it includes a stop at the Shake Shack. Take in this local spot, grab a picture, and hop back on the coach with a sweet treat!
The tour will depart from Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach at 9:00 a.m. and return at approximately 2:00 p.m. Please dress comfortably.
