A communications strategist, Josh Earnest was selected by former President Barack Obama to be White House press secretary in 2014. He is a political analyst and commentator for NBC News and MSNBC. This year, Mr. Earnest accepted a position with United Airlines as its senior vice president and chief communications officer.

A native of Kansas City, Missouri, Mr. Earnest attended Rice University, where he majored in political science and policy studies.
