Matthew Holmes is the Deputy CEO for the National Rural Water Association (NRWA), America’s largest utility membership organization. NRWA is committed to helping rural and small communities provide safe drinking water and environmentally responsible wastewater services through support of its state affiliates. Mr. Holmes is responsible for internal operations, grant and contract administration, membership services, policy advice and supporting the CEO, Sam Wade.
Prior to working at NRWA, Mr. Holmes served as the executive director of the New Mexico Rural Water Association for thirteen years. He served on the New Mexico Drought Task Force, Water Infrastructure Investment Team and was chair of the New Mexico Water/Wastewater Agency Response Network.
Mr. Holmes also has extensive experience in mediation, conflict resolution and facilitating community-based planning processes in rural communities.
