As a well-respected political analyst for the last three decades, Stu Rothenberg has the rare ability to report on all the political happenings in the nation with unbiased clarity and non-partisan precision. The publication he founded, the Rothenberg Political Report, provided honest, nonpartisan reporting and analysis of American elections and their potential ramifications, looking at U.S. House, Senate, and gubernatorial campaigns, presidential politics, and political developments.
Mr. Rothenberg writes a weekly column for Capital Hill’s Roll Call, and has also written for The Washington Post. His op-eds have appeared in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times and other newspapers. He is also a frequent guest on the network television news circuit, where he has appeared on “Meet the Press,” “TODAY,” “This Week,” “Face the Nation,” “Nightline,” and “The McLaughlin Group.” He is also a regular contributor to “PBS NewsHour.” Before that, he served as a CNN political analyst for more than 10 years, which included extensive on-air election night analysis. He has also served as a political analyst for the Voice of America.
Dr. Rothenberg earned a bachelor’s from Colby College in Waterville, Maine, and a doctorate from the University of Connecticut. He has taught political science at Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, and at Catholic University of America in Washington, DC.
